Crossroads in Nicaragua: 11/07/14

It's the eve before our trip and I wanted to post some quick thoughts that Ryan shared with me earlier in the week. It think it perfectly describes our mission in Nicaragua…

Who Are We?

Chey Farrell

Cheyenne is attending Northeastern Illinois University to study to become an Elementary school teacher and eventually an Administrator. She wants to go to Nicaragua to help others the best she can and to get away from the craziness of life surrounded by the media, if only for a week! This is Cheyenne's first mission trip and she plans on taking many more!

Will Farrell

William works as a dishwasher part-time and goes to college full-time. He wants to go to Nicaragua to help people in underprivileged areas and learn more about the Central American region. William is a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Morton Grove.

Ashley Groth

This is Ashley's first mission trip abroad. She has previously been on trips within the US, but never one with this type of hands-on work. Ashley loves all things DIY and is never afraid to learn how to use a new power tool! Hands-on projects are nothing short of exciting for her. Aside from taking on more projects than time would allow, Ashley enjoys laughing with friends, discovering new music, running, and spending time with her family.

Amanda Kirsch

After participating in Crossroads' last mission trip, Amanda eagerly stepped up to lead this year's mission trip and cannot wait to share the experience with the great team we have assembled! In addition to traveling, Amanda loves photography and is excited to share snapshots of our journey with all of you.

Joe Kirsch

While studying architecture in college, Joe quickly realized he wanted to give back using his skills and knowledge of architecture and construction. Volunteering on projects from rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina to helping build a studio for local artists, Joe has decided it's time to get his hands dirty internationally.

Megan Samelson

This is Megan's first mission trip and she couldn't be more excited! When she's not daydreaming about traveling, Megan is singing at church, teaching herself to play the bass guitar, swapping stories with friends over some brews and laughter, and generally trying to make the most of her twenties. She takes "YOLO" very seriously.

Natalie Seib

"She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands." Natalie's hands are always eager to do God's work, whether building, cooking, gardening or knitting. This is her second building-related mission adventure with her husband, but her first abroad. Alabamos a Dios!

Ryan Seib

After meeting the inspiring and gentle brothers and sisters in Christ at Crossroads three years ago, Ryan felt a renewal in his desire to serve others around the world. Believing that service knows no barriers within the heart, Ryan feels blessed to be a part of answering the prayers of a family in a time of need. With his fellow Crossroaders and his beautiful bride, Ryan intends to make the most of his time in Estelí, hopefully making more friends there with whom to reunite one day in Heaven.
